Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shakar was the American and British sitarist. She won the British House of Commons' Shield as the youngest, and the first female to receive it. Apart from receiving nine Grammy nominations, she was also the first Indian-born musician to present at and perform in the live ceremony. Anoushka Sitar Shankar is the Indian young sitar singer. She is a scholar and granddaughter of legendary Ravi Shankar. Born in London She spent her first few years of her life traveling between London as well as New Delhi. When she was only 13, her first show at New Delhi took place. Then the same year, in Encinitas CA she attended high school. She graduated with distinction in the year 1999. Her career as a musician and performer is quite impressive, in spite of her age. She often joins her father during performances, something she has been doing for quite a few years. In 1998, she debuted Anourag as her debut solo record. In 2002, she debuted her Grammy Nominated Live At Carnegie Hall. Stage performances are a large part of her career. She has performed in a variety of famous venues around the globe. Anoushka Shankar's professional life isn't limited to music. She published Bapi, the love of my life in 2002. The book is a biography which pays tribute to her dad Ravi Shankar. in 2003 she starred on Dance Like a Man as a Bharat Natyam performer. Anoushka Shankar's professional career is continuing to grow and we're likely to see a variety of things from her in the years to follow. Anoushka shankar is an English born singer who travelled her early years in London, Delhi and California. When she was nine years old, she began studying music under her father. She made her first on the sitar four years later at the celebration of his 75th birthday in Delhi. Anoushka has gained lots of experience touring around the globe with her dad. She appeared at Carnegie Hall in her teenage time, and also recorded at George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. In recognition of being one of the top musicians in Asian Arts, she was awarded the House of Commons Shield by British Parliament.
